The Thermia iTec XTR is an air source heat pump that provides maximum performance and functionality across all climate zones in Europe, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.
It has an impressive seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) of 5,1 (iTec XTR 5 at A7/W35 according to EN14825). The Thermia iTec XTR delivers maximum energy savings and performs at temperatures as low as -25°C.
*SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) specifies how efficiently a heat pump works throughout the whole year, including both warm and cold seasons. The higher the value, the better the system.
Thermia is constantly working towards a more climate-friendly and sustainable society, which is why the Thermia iTec XTR uses the natural refrigerant, a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional refrigerants for air source heat pumps. The natural refrigerant R290 has a GWP of only 0,02, giving it a very low CO2 equivalent.
CO2 equivalent is the most accurate measurement for a product. The measurement shows the GWP value times the filling quantity and thus also takes into account how much refrigerant a specific product contains. GWP stands for „Global Warming Potential“ and is expressed in GWP/gram gas.
An air source heat pump has two parts: the heat pump itself, which is installed outdoors, and an indoor unit controlling output, hot water supply and other features.

For the indoor unit you can choose five versions: Standard, Plus, Total, Total EQ and Total Compact, depending on your requirements.
The iTec XTR allows you to combine the volume tank and the hot water tank if you so desire. The combinations are endless, allowing us to tailor your heating system to your needs, while keeping your energy costs at a minimum.
On top of this, the iTec XTR comes with a wide range of extensions, e.g. for heating the pool, working in combination with solar panels or additional heat sources and other options.
The iTec XTR has a new, very high quality display. As well as enhancing the overall design, the new display also provides improved contrast. The controller for the iTec XTR heat pump features user-friendly icons that are easy to understand and use.
The iTec XTR indoor unit has a clean, white front and the outdoor unit is equally elegant with a matt black finish.
All the different indoor units have a clean Scandinavian design with a white front, which will fit discreetly into your home.
The hot water tank is equipped with our TWS (Tap Water Stratification) technology, which means that hot water is produced faster and at higher temperatures than with traditional technology. Because the hot water is diluted to tap water temperature, the volume of usable hot water is considerably greater due to the high initial temperature.
iTec XTR S can produce up to 250 liters of mixed 40°C domestic hot water.
The Thermia iTec XTR can also provide efficient cooling for your home during the summer. The processthat provides heat during winter is simply reversed to cool in summer.

With a sound level of 45 dB(A) at 4 meters distance, the Thermia iTec XTR is very quiet. Thanks to its excellent acoustic performance, the outdoor unit can be placed wherever is most convenient without worrying about noise affecting your neighbors, for example.
In air source heat pumps, noise is produced by the operation of both the compressor and the fan. Operational sound levels for the iTec XTR vary from 45 dB(A) up to 53 dB(A), depending on compressor and fan speed (according to EN12102).
The iTec XTR air source heat pump features the Thermia-developed inverter technology, which controls the compressor and constantly adjusts the heat load according to current heat demand.
On top of this, the Thermia Optimum technology monitors your system and adjusts performance accordingly. Speed-controlled
Class-A circulation pumps guarantee that daily operation is automatically adjusted according to the conditions and your requirements. Thus, you never use more energy than needed, keeping your energy bills to a minimum without lifting a finger.
Thermia heat pumps work with complete precision to give your home the best possible indoor climate at the lowest possible cost. Once the heat pump is set, you never need to think about it again. Most functions are automatic, unless you want to change the settings or manually control the system.
The Thermia iTec XTR comes with the latest display technology, which gives you a very friendly user interface with attractive icons and high contrast. It displays visualized heat curves and raising or lowering the temperature can be achieved at the touch of a button.
When operated in winter, an air source heat pump extracts energy from the cold outside air and releases the heat into the living space. Under certain outside air conditions, when the pump is operating in heating mode, frost can form on the air-cooled heat exchanger, decreasing heating performance. Defrosting an air source heat pump is essential to ensure the functionality of the system. However, defrosting consumes energy and should only be performed when, and for as long, as needed.
In standard systems, a typical defrosting cycle is based on a timer function. In contrast, Thermia’s defrosting of the outdoor unit is automatic and demand-controlled. It is only activated when needed and only for as long as necessary. This minimizes the energy consumption required to keep the outdoor part of the system free of ice. The result is improved annual efficiency.

The Thermia Online app enables you to operate your heat pump remotely. This means you can check your heating system is working properly, reduce the temperature when you are on holiday, or receive a notification if anything unexpected comes up. Our online system also provides installers with comprehensive diagnostics data andenables them to respond promptly to notifications or access a live feed on system performance. The Thermia Online app is available for both Android and iPhone.

Most common European heating systems are water-based, with heat being distributed via radiators or hydronic floor heating. The output temperature of the water distribution system is usually 30-35°C for floor heating and 45-55°C for radiators.
