Energy class when the heat pump is part of an integrated system
Energy class when the heat pump is the sole heat generator. Energy class calculated according to Eco-design Directive 811/2013
The Calibra Eco Cool is a ground-source heat pump with inverter technology that offers you superior performance thanks to its unique technical solutions. With an impressive seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) of 5.87 (at 35°C floor heating according to EN14825), the Calibra Eco Cool enables you to reduce energy consumption by up to 80%.
*SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) specifies how efficiently a heat pump works throughout the whole year, including both warm and cold seasons. The higher the value, the better the system.
The Calibra Eco Cool can provide efficient cooling for your home during the summer.
Calibra Eco Cool has a built-in passive cooling function. In passive cooling, the cold brine circulating in the underground loops is used to produce natural cooling to the house. Cooling can be distributed in different ways, such as certain underfloor heating systems or by fan coils. Using a heat pump to provide passive cooling is significantly more cost-efficient than traditional air conditioning in terms of both initial investment and running costs.
At Thermia, we are committed to healthier lifestyles and reducing our environmental footprint. That’s why Calibra Eco Cool is the first ground source heat pump on the market with the more climate-friendly refrigerant R452B and the lowest GWP* value – 698. Moreover, thanks to its unique design, it requires a smaller volume of refrigerant than other heat pumps, resulting in a very low C02 equivalent.
The R452B refrigerant represents innovation in every way. It is an excellent heat transfer medium that leads to greater energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* GWP stands for Global Warming Potential and is today the most accurate measure for the assessment of environmental impact level.
The Calibra Eco Cool is available in two output sizes: Calibra Eco Cool 8 (2 – 8kW) and Calibra Eco Cool 12 (3 – 12kW) both in three-phase version (400V).
The Calibra Eco Cool has built-in 184-liter hot water tank and if needed can be connected to MBH Calibra 200 or MBH Calibra 300, or any other hot water tank.
With a wide range of accessories, the Calibra Eco Cool can also provide cooling, heat a pool and work in combination with solar thermal panels or additional heat sources.
The hot water tank is fitted with our TWS (Tap Water Stratification) technology, which means that hot water is produced faster and at higher temperatures than with traditional technology. Because the hot water is diluted to tap water temperature, the volume of usable hot water is considerably higher due to the high temperature.
Inverter and TWS technology make Calibra Eco Cool the fastest and most cost-efficient producer of hot water in its segment: 260 liters of domestic hot water @40°C
Innovative mechanical design makes the Calibra Eco Cool one of the quietest heat pumps on the market. Operational sound levels for Calibra Eco Cool 12 vary from 29 dB(A) up to 44 dB(A), depending on compressor speed (according to EN12102 and EN ISO 3741).
The Calibra Eco Cool is one of the quietest heat pumps on the market.
The Calibra Eco Cool features the Thermia-developed inverter technology, which controls the compressor and constantly adjusts the heat load according to current heat demand.
On top of this, the Thermia Optimum technology monitors your system and adjusts performance accordingly. Speed-controlled
Class-A circulation pumps guarantee that daily operation is automatically adjusted according to the conditions and your requirements. Thus, you never use more energy than needed, keeping your energy bills to a minimum without lifting a finger.
The controller coordinates and controls the heating system. Thermia heat pumps work with complete precision to give your home the best possible indoor climate at the lowest possible cost. Our controller is very easy to use.
The system uses an algorithm that ensures the lowest possible running cost while maintaining the desired indoor temperature.

The new controller in the inverter heat pump boasts a color touchscreen display and user-friendly icons that are easy to understand.
Most common European heating systems are water-based, with heat being distributed via radiators or underfloor heating. The output temperature of the water distribution system is usually 30-35°C for floor heating and 45-55°C for radiators. Thermia heat pumps offer a low-carbon alternative to traditional boilers in modern buildings, whether for new-builds or refurbishments and regardless of the temperature required in the heating system.
The Calibra Eco Cool can easily be supplemented to heat your pool, all year round. In this way, you can enjoy your pool in all seasons while substantially reducing the cost of heating it.
The Thermia Online app enables you to check that your heating system is working properly, reduce the temperature when you are on holiday, or receive a notification if anything unexpected comes up. Our online system provides installers with comprehensive diagnostics data and also enables them to respond promptly to notifications or access a live feed on system performance.
The built-in online function is part of the intelligent control system. The Thermia Online app is available for both Android and iPhone.
Thermia heat pumps are designed, tested and manufactured in one of the harshest climates in Europe. Swedish winters can be extreme. February is usually the coldest month, with temperatures dropping as low as -30°C or even lower in the north and heating is essential from September to May. The Calibra Eco Cool is built on 40 years of experience in developing and supplying heat pumps.
Air and ground source heat pumps have the potential to reduce your home’s CO2 emissions by up to 75% and can act as your individual contribution to the commitment to source 32% of European energy from renewable sources by 2030.
