Thermia Elve

Features

  • Excellent performance all year round

    Excellent performance all year round

The Thermia Elve is an air source heat pump that provides maximum performance and functionality across all climate zones in Europe, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.

The Elve has an impressive seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP)* of 4,96 (Elve L at A7/W35 according to EN14825 based on underfloor heating in an average climate) and operates at temperatures as low as -25°C.

*SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) specifies how efficiently a heat pump works throughout the whole year, including both warm and cold seasons. The higher the value, the better the system.

  • Natural refrigerant

    Natural refrigerant

For more than 100 years, Thermia has been developing tomorrow’s heating solutions. By choosing the refrigerant R290 for the Elve, we are challenging today’s technology and continuing to improve and develop products at the forefront of technology. The Elve uses the natural refrigerant R290 with a very low GWP* value of just 0,02

*GWP, Global Warming Potential, is the amount of heat a greenhouse gas traps in the atmosphere compared to the heat trapped by the same amount of CO2, which is the reference gas with a GWP of 1.

  • Versatility

    Versatility

An air source heat pump has two parts: the heat pump itself, which is installed outdoors, and an indoor unit controlling output, hot water supply and other features.

The Thermia Elve is available in two output sizes:

    • Elve L  (3,7 – 12 kW) 400V
    • Elve XL (5,1 – 15,3 kW) 400V

For the indoor unit you can choose four versions: Standard, Compact, Total 300 l and Total EQ, depending on your requirements.

The Elve allows you to combine the volume tank and the hot water tank if you would like to. The combinations are endless, allowing us to tailor your heating system to exactly what you need and want.

On top of this, the Elve comes with a wide range of extensions, e.g. for heating the pool, working in combination with solar panels or additional heat sources and other options.

  • More hot water, faster with Elve Total indoor unit

More hot water, faster with Elve Total indoor unit

The hot water tank is equipped with our TWS (Tap Water Stratification) technology, which means that hot water is produced fast and at high temperature. Because the hot water is diluted to tap water temperature, the volume of usable hot water is considerably greater due to the high initial temperature.

Elve L with indoor unit Idun Total 300 can produce up to 542 liters of mixed 40°C domestic hot water.

  • Beautiful Scandinavian design

    Beautiful Scandinavian design

The Elve a new, very high quality display. As well as enhancing the overall design, the new display also provides improved contrast. The controller for the Elve heat pump features user-friendly icons that are easy to understand and use.

The Idun indoor unit has a clean, dark grey front and Elve, the outdoor unit is equally elegant with a matt grey and black finish.

All the four indoor units have a clean Scandinavian design with a dark grey front, which will fit discreetly into your home.

  • Cooling as standard

    Cooling as standard

The Thermia Elve can also provide cooling for your home during the summer. The process that provides heat during winter is simply reversed to cool in summer.

Both Elve models offer this function as standard.

  • Low sound level

    Low sound level

With a sound level of 42 dB(A)* at 4 meters distance, the Thermia Elve L is very quiet. Thanks to its excellent acoustic performance, the outdoor unit can be placed wherever is most convenient without worrying about noise affecting your neighbors, for example.

In air source heat pumps, noise is produced by the operation of both the compressor and the fan.

  • Intelligent control system

    Intelligent control system

The controller coordinates and controls the heating system. Thermia heat pumps work with complete precision to give your home the best possible indoor climate at the lowest possible cost. Our controller is very easy to use. The system uses an algorithm that ensures the lowest possible running cost while maintaining the desired indoor temperature.

The Thermia Elve comes with the latest display technology, which gives you a very friendly user interface with attractive icons and high contrast. It displays visualized heat curves and raising or lowering the temperature can be achieved at the touch of a button.

    New features:

    • Color touchscreen and intuitive menu
    • Full overview of temperatures and curves
    • Calendar function – to suit your preferences
    • Ambient light with the system status

  • Smart Price

    Smart Price

Smart Price is an additional service from MyThermia, designed to lower your heating costs. It plans and adjusts your heat pump’s energy usage for both heating and hot water based on the hourly price from the electricity exchange Nord Pool*.

When electricity prices are low, Smart Price will increase your heat pump’s heating for the house and hot water slightly, and then reduce heating when electricity prices are higher. In this way, part of your electricity consumption can be shifted from times with a high hourly price to times when the electricity price is lower.

*Nord Pool services are available in selected European countries

  • Demand-controlled defrosting

    Demand-controlled defrosting

When operated in winter, an air source heat pump extracts energy from the cold outside air and releases the heat into the living space. Under certain outside air conditions, when the pump is operating in heating mode, frost can form on the air-cooled heat exchanger, decreasing heating performance. Defrosting an air source heat pump is essential to ensure the functionality of the system. However, defrosting consumes energy and should only be performed when, and for as long, as needed.

In standard systems, a typical defrosting cycle is based on a timer function. In contrast, Thermia’s defrosting of the outdoor unit is automatic and demand controlled. It is only activated when needed and only for as long as necessary. This minimizes the energy consumption required to keep the outdoor part of the system free of ice. The result is improved annual performance and reduced costs.

  • Reduce your energy bill

    Reduce your energy bill

The Elve air source heat pump features the Thermia-developed inverter technology, which controls the compressor and constantly adjusts the heat load according to current heat demand.

On top of this, the Thermia Optimum technology monitors your system and adjusts performance accordingly. Speed-controlled

Class-A circulation pumps guarantee that daily operation is automatically adjusted according to the conditions and your requirements. Thus, you never use more energy than needed, keeping your energy bills to a minimum without lifting a finger.

  • Pool heating

    Pool heating

The Thermia Elve can easily be extended to heat your pool, all year round. In this way, you can enjoy your pool in all seasons at very low cost.

  • Heating

    Heating

Most common European heating systems are water-based, with heat being distributed via radiators or hydronic floor heating. The output temperature of the water distribution system is usually 30-35°C for floor heating and 45-55°C for radiators. Thermia heat pumps use natural energy from the air to heat and provide hot water for all sorts of different types of homes, including new builds and refurbishments and regardless of the temperature required in the heating system.

  • The essence of Scandinavian functionality

    The essence of Scandinavian functionality

Thermia heat pumps are tested in one of harshest climates in Europe. Swedish winters can be extreme. February is usually the coldest month, with temperatures regularly below zero, and heating is essential from September to May. The Thermia Elve has been proven and tested in the cold Nordic climate and features a variety of functions that can provide the perfect level of comfort for your home, throughout the year and for years to come.

Enjoy the benefits of renewable heating and cooling

The Thermia air source heat pump operates on a simple principle: it transfers energy from the ambient air to the water in your heating system via a refrigeration process. The energy stored in the air is simply extracted and can be used for heating, cooling, domestic hot water and pool heating.

During the winter, air source heat pumps can heat your home via floor heating or radiators. In the summer, they provide pleasant cooling via a floor system or fan coils. You can enjoy hot water all year round and also heat your pool.
